Knowles Centre is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information of its clients, donors, employees and other stakeholders.

All personal information collected and used by Knowles Centre is kept in confidence.  Knowles Centre does not give out personal information to third parties without the consent of the individual unless there is compelling circumstances, in which the delay of obtaining the information may be injurious to an individual’s health or safety, or in compassionate circumstances in order to facilitate contact with next-of-kin or a friend of an individual who is injured, ill or deceased.  Knowles Centre does not sell or trade personal information.

Knowles Centre documents the purpose for collection of personal information through our standards and policies.

Knowles Centre obtains consent of the individual before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information.

Limited Collection and Access
Knowles Centre collects and uses personal information only for purposes for which it is to be used and/or disclosed.  Access to information is limited to authorized individuals.

Personal information shall only be used or disclosed for the purposes for which it was collected, unless an individual has otherwise consented, or when it is required or permitted by law.  Knowles Centre retains personal information only as long as it is required for the reason it was collected.  Knowles Centre has policies and procedures in place to safely and timely destroy or delete personal information.

Knowles Centre makes every effort to keep personal information as accurate and up-to-date as is necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used.  Knowles Centre takes measures to ensure the integrity of this information is maintained and to prevent information from being lost or destroyed.

Knowles Centre employees are governed by strict standards and policies to ensure that personal information is secure and treated with the utmost care and respect.

Knowles Centre uses password protocols, encryption software and firewalls to ensure privacy and to protect personal information we receive online.  Our software is routinely updated to maximize protection of such information.

Policies are in place to protect personal information from theft and loss, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying or use.

Information Requests
Knowles Centre will respond to any request for access to an individual’s personal information.  An individual has the right to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate.

All requests from external sources must be in writing and accompanied by a release form signed by the appropriate parties.
