Treatment Foster Care Parents
Knowles Centre welcomes inquires from individuals or couples interested in learning more about becoming Treatment Foster Parents.

As a Treatment Foster Parent, you will become an integral member of the treatment team, and receive a high level of support and consultation to effectively care for any child or children placed in your home. You will also receive ongoing training, regular respite, and competitive financial compensation while being able to work from home.

The ideal Treatment Foster Parent should have experience (i.e. youth/child care, education assistant, support/respite provider, health care aid, etc.) working with children/youth with high needs, be committed to working with birth families whenever possible, understand the necessity of positive cultural identity and be caring and flexible.  A good sense of humour is a definite asset.

At present, we are most in need of families who can provide care for adolescents. Male care providers as well as Aboriginal care providers are in particularly high demand, and are strongly encouraged to inquire.
